In 2011, Springboard Scotland introduced a week-long celebration of tourism careers in order to compliment and extend the reach of the annual Scottish Tourism Week. Such was its success, Springboard is now co-ordinating a month-long Tourism Careers Festival to run from 1 - 31st March.
The Careers Festival programme will work in harmony with Scottish Tourism Week and will provide the essential link between the industry and potential recruits, key influencers and the wider community. All activities planned are designed to improve the appeal, widen access and attract new talent into the industry.
Throughout March organisations and businesses will be given the opportunity to offer show rounds, open days, taster events, job shadowing, careers exhibitions and all manner of work experience opportunities. This is your opportunity to engage with your local community! To find out how your business can get involved please visit the Employers section here
As the industry we need to open our doors to the local community and invite them to come and see at first-hand what we do. The Careers Festival is the industry’s chance to share this excitement of the work place with its key target audiences in working together to deliver a nationwide celebration.
